Proposal Support & Broader Impacts

Looking for ways to Broaden the Impact of your Science? The Center for Education, Engagement, and Evaluation can help.

Looking for an effective and engaging Broader Impacts component for your next proposal? The CEEE team can help you draft and implement engaging broader impacts activities that align with your proposal.

Many funding agencies require researchers to consider the broader impacts of their work. The National Science Foundation defines broader impacts as the potential to benefit society and contribute to the achievement of specific, desired societal outcomes. We can help you strengthen the broader impact portion of proposals through student engagement, educational videos, teacher workshops, informal education opportunities, and more.

  • Engagement & Outreach opportunities: We can help you get involved with outreach and community engagement opportunities and support broader impacts efforts through some of our established programs like CLEAN and RECCS (see examples below).
  • Early Career Scientist Support: We can help you with proposal writing and to develop broader impacts programs. We also support science outreach and mentorship through some of our current programs like PSECCO or Advancing Fieldsafety (see examples below).

  • Course transformation & teaching: We can help you learn more about educational research and learning strategies.

  • Evaluation Services: We can help you evaluate the educational impact of your projects (see our Evaluation Services page for more information).

Below are suggestions of Broader Impact activities that can be customized to support your next proposal. We are also happy to discuss other options or ideas that are tailored to your proposal.
