Data Puzzle Webinar: Wind Farms of the Future

November 13th from 4 pm - 5 pm MT

  • WHO: Middle and High School Science Teachers
  • WHAT: FREE virtual teacher workshop focused on the Data Puzzles instructional framework in the context of the Wind Farms of the Future Data Puzzle lesson. 
    • Participants will leave prepared to implement the lesson in their classrooms and receive a 1-hr PD certificate from the University of Colorado Boulder
  • WHEN: Wednesday,November 13th from 4 pm - 5 pm MT
  • WHERE: Virtual - Zoom link will be sent when registering for the event

ABOUT THE RESOURCE:  Transitioning from fossil fuels to clean, renewable energy sources like wind is essential if the US is to reduce its carbon emissions. But where should new wind farms be constructed? In this Data Puzzle, students analyze surface roughness and wind speed data to construct an evidence-based explanation for the investigative question, "Where in the United States (lands and waters) should new wind turbines be constructed to generate the most energy?
