Research Experience For Community College Students Program

A summer research experience program at CU Boulder for community college students.

The Research Experience for Community College Students (RECCS) is a paid, nine-week summer research program at CU Boulder, the world’s top-ranked institution for geosciences. Open to community college students from Colorado and surrounding states, RECCS offers hands-on research in environmental and geosciences, a $700 weekly stipend, and mentorship from leading scientists. Participants gain valuable research and communication skills while exploring environmental and geosciences.

The program runs from June 2 – August 1, 2025, and ends with students presenting their research at a science symposium. Students from rural communities and diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Applications are closed for the 2025 cohort.
