Resilient Lake County Teacher Workshop
This workshop will introduce educators to the Resilient Lake County unit, a place-based unit developed for middle and early high school students to explore the science of cascading hazards (drought, flood, wildfire, landslides & earthquakes) in rural northern California. The curriculum includes local stories, trauma-informed practices to reflect on students' own experiences, and an exploration of social factors that increase vulnerability to hazards. Guest scientists will discuss their research, including a discussion of how wildfire affects critical nutrients in regional agriculture.

The workshop is free for California teachers! Teachers from Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino, Yolo, Colusa and Glenn Counties are eligible for a travel stipend, please email katya.schloesser@colorado.edu for more information.
