Matt Dawson

Biography

Matt Dawson (he/him) champions programs that bridge science with education, community engagement, and field safety. He supports the CEEE team through strategic planning, staff supervision, communications, and program development—particularly for initiatives like ADVANCING FieldSafety, which strives to make field research safer and more inclusive. Matt also contributes to grant writing, reporting, and cultivating partnerships that help extend the CEEE’s reach and impact. He enjoys working where environmental science, education, and equity converge, and takes pride in collaborating with the inspiring people and innovative programs that make the CEEE such a dynamic team. Prior to joining the CEEE, Matt led career development programs for the Geological Society of America in Boulder, Colorado, worked as a naturalist for the City of Chandler, Arizona, and taught high school earth and environmental science in Brockton, Massachusetts.
