Our speakers include: Heather McFarland, Science Communications Manager at the UAF International Arctic Research Center. She draws on this experience to describe tips and tricks for creating an engaging print newsletter about your research. Rod Boyce, Public Information Officer at the UAF Geophysical Institute. Boyce was a newspaper editor in Alaska for many years before transitioning to science communication. He has extensive experience telling stories and connecting with Alaska media. He shares how to connect with local media who cover the regions you work in. Karli Tyance Hassell, Indigenous Engagement Coordinator at the NNA-CO. Karli works on the NNA-CO's Arctic Together podcast. She shares her experience building a podcast, and tips and tricks for engaging Arctic audiences through recorded stories and dialogue. Mike DeLue, Science Communicator at the International Arctic Research Center. DeLue has helped to build several highly engaging ArcGIS StoryMaps that bring together maps, pictures and recordings into an interactive format.
