Nadine Fabbi - Nadine has spearheaded dozens of projects that have put the Center on the map including building one of the first Arctic minors in the contiguous states, creating the nation’s first Fulbright Canada Visiting Chair in Arctic Studies, offering the first fellowships for the study of the Inuit and Nuu-chah-nulth languages, founding the Task Force on the Arctic (an undergraduate capstone course for the Jackson School), as well as running programs to support graduate student research, and an exchange program with University of Victoria and The University of British Columbia.
Michelle Koutnik - Michelle Koutnik is a glaciologist whose research interests include the dynamics of glacier change, the evolution of glaciers and ice sheets over time, and the history of climate and ice on Mars. As part of the UW Department of Earth and Space Sciences’ glaciology group, Michelle explores the how glaciers and ice sheets evolve in response to climate change.
Jason Young - My work explores the intersection between technology, knowledge systems, and power. I am interested in understanding how technological practices -- from the use of social media and AI to the spread of disinformation -- are leveraged to make different kinds of knowledge are made visible (or made invisible) and given authority (or marginalized).
