PSECCO Announces Release of the Polar Early Career World Summit Synthesis Report

The Polar Science Early Career Community Office (PSECCO) has announced the release of the Polar Early Career World Summit Synthesis Report, a comprehensive summary document that captures the collective voice of 238 early-career polar researchers from around the world!

The report presents collated input from the summit and associated online engagement opportunities, and identifies the polar early career community’s shared priorities for research planning within the polar community, with a particular focus on contributions to the ICARP IV process in 2025-2026 and the Fifth International Polar Year (IPY-5) in 2032-2033.

This collaborative spirit was supported by organizations like the Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS) and coordinated through PSECCO, a national-level community office focused on building and sharing professional development resources and events, and building community, specifically for people working in polar science who are early in their careers

The report highlights the importance of early-career voices in shaping long-term research planning, collaboration, and inclusivity in polar science. The organization is calling on institutional partners and the broader scientific community to help implement these priorities and tackle urgent polar research questions responsibly. Individuals can endorse the report through fall 2026.
