Katya Schloesser is an Education and Outreach Associate at CIRES, leading the HEART Force project. She previously taught earth science and managed outreach for CU Boulder’s Learn More About Climate and AirWaterGas projects. She holds an MA in Geography from CU Boulder and degrees in Environmental Science and Latin American Studies from the University of New Mexico. Katya is committed to helping K-12 educators teach engaging climate science.

Dr. Alison Boardman collaborates with teachers and school leaders to improve reading instruction, focusing on classrooms with emergent bilingual learners and students with disabilities. She leads research on project-based learning (PBL) in high school language arts and studies its sustainability and support for students with disabilities. Dr. Boardman also helps educators implement Collaborative Strategic Reading to enhance student-led discussions and learning outcomes. A former special education teacher, she is passionate about engaging teachers in meaningful professional development.
