Fire Ecologist Dr. Camille Stevens-Rumann

CIRES Center for Education Engagement and Evaluation (CEEE) went live for a special edition of Science Show & Share featuring Dr. Camille Stevens-Rumann, a fire ecologist whose research focuses on how forests recover after a wildfire. Dr. Stevens-Rumann will discuss her past and present work in the US Rocky Mountains, including how climate change is making it harder for fires to grow back after wildfires. This webinar is perfect for middle and high school classrooms, especially those that have engaged with our Data Puzzle resources.

Camille Stevens-Rumann is an associate professor in Forest and Rangeland Stewardship whose research focuses on wildfires, including fire behavior, management strategies, post-fire forest recovery, and the effects of climate change on forests. She also studies how land management practices influence forest ecosystems. She holds a B.S. in biology and environmental studies from Brandeis University, an M.S. in forestry from Northern Arizona University, and a Ph.D. in natural resources from the University of Idaho.
