The Avista Fire Resilience Challenge is a scenario based role play game that helps students explore strategies for preparing for and recovering from wildfire.The game incorporates trauma-informed practices and real-world challenges such as housing insecurity, mental health, and language access. Expert-reviewed for accuracy, the game simulates the very real challenge of how to make meaningful investment decisions through multiple rounds of play, where teams invest in strategies, face wildfire-related outcomes, and build resilience together. In this session, you’ll learn the rules of the game, and get ideas for how to incorporate it into your unit on wildfire and natural hazard reslience.
