CEEE’s Hilary Peddicord Selected as the AESS Graduate Student Board Member

Hilary Peddicord, the Education Lead for Science On a Sphere® at the NOAA Office of Education within CEEE, has been selected by the Association for Environmental Studies and Sciences (AESS) Board to serve as the Graduate Student Board Member

AESS is an independent faculty-and student-based professional association in higher education, designed to serve the needs of environmental scholars and scientists who value interdisciplinary approaches to research, teaching, and problem-solving. Founded in 2008, the Association seeks to provide its members with the latest environmental information and tools to create better courses, strengthen research, develop more satisfying careers, harness the power of a collective voice for the profession, and enjoy each other’s company at national and regional meetings. Hilary is originally from Sheridan, Wyoming, and earned degrees in Zoology and Dance from the University of Wyoming and a certification to teach secondary science from the University of Colorado, Boulder. She is currently pursuing a dual specialization at CU in the Department of Environmental Studies in Natural Resources Policy and Sustainability in the Outdoor Industry. There were over a dozen strong candidates, but Hilary's extensive experience and clear passion for environmental education made her stand out. The AESS board recognized that she would bring invaluable insight and energy into the organization.
