Karla is a senior majoring in Political Science. She also has an associates degree in Biology. She is a RECCS alumn of 2022 and is now working as a student assistant with RECCS. Previous work Karla has focused on includes disparities and inequities in marginalized communities and third world countries that have been affected by industrialization and environmental racism. She has done so with internships with NASA and NOAA. Her passion lies in bridging educational disparities specifically within the STEM field. During her free time, Karla enjoys the outdoors, spending time with her cats, reading books, and rewatching comfort shows.
