Data Puzzles will be presenting two sessions at the Colorado Science Conference at Colorado State University (CSU) Spur on Friday, November 6. In "From Data to Discovery: A Structured Approach to Opening Up Data Puzzle Explorations in the Context of Authentic Climate Data," we'll be introducing our newest resource—Data Puzzles Explorations—and giving teachers a chance to experience an open data exploration. In "Using Data Puzzles to integrate Real-World Data & Data Sensemaking Practices into NGSS Classroom," participants will engage in a hands-on lesson, analyze student thinking, and examine how specific teaching strategies around data can support or constrain sensemaking.
