PSECCO highlighted by the Arctic Data Center
CEEE's Polar Science Early Career Community Office (PSECCO) was highlighted by one of our Collaborators, the National Science Foundation's Arctic Data Center. PSECCO has served since 2022 as a hub for community building, professional development, and collaboration, helping researchers navigate careers in polar science while fostering a welcoming and inclusive research environment.
Through workshops, webinars, mentorship networks, and travel support, PSECCO emphasizes cross-disciplinary collaboration, peer-to-peer learning, and exposure to diverse career pathways both inside and outside academia. Its programming goes beyond technical training, focusing on building relationships and shared capacity that strengthen the broader polar research community.
At the 2025 Polar Early Career World Summit, the Arctic Data Center led a workshop on FAIR and ethical data collection for collaborative research, equipping participants with practical tools for responsible data stewardship. Building on that momentum, PSECCO and the Arctic Data Center will host a follow-up webinar on February 11, 2026, expanding access to these strategies for early-career researchers worldwide.
Together, PSECCO’s community-centered approach and its partnerships demonstrate how investing in people—alongside data and discovery—helps shape a more connected, resilient, and forward-looking future for polar science.
